Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced TIG Welder to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the Tamworth area.
THE ROLE
- TIG weld stainless steel and other materials to produce high-quality fabricated components.
- Set up and operate TIG welding equipment to the required specifications.
- Weld components accurately to engineering drawings, weld procedures and job specifications.
- Prepare materials and components prior to welding, including cleaning, cutting and joint preparation.
- Produce neat, consistent welds while maintaining high standards of quality and finish.
- Carry out visual inspection of welds and identify any defects or areas requiring rework.
- Use appropriate welding consumables, tooling and equipment for different applications.
- Work with a range of sheet metal and fabricated components, maintaining required tolerances.
- Complete basic finishing and fettling of welded components where required.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area and follow all company health & safety procedures.
ABOUT YOU
- Previous experience as a TIG Welder within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Strong TIG welding experience, particularly on stainless steel, is preferred.
- Ability to produce clean, high-quality welds with good attention to appearance and consistency.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications.
- Good understanding of welding preparation, consumables and equipment settings.
- Experience working with sheet metal and fabricated components is desirable.
- Able to inspect own work and maintain high-quality standards.
- Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately to production requirements.
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently or as part of a busy fabrication team.
HOURS OF WORK
06:45am - 16:45pm Monday to Thursday (38 hours per week) overtime paid at time and a third.
PAY RATE
£15.00ph - £17.00ph depending on experience and skills. (Overtime available at 1.3!)
