We’re looking for a Stores Supervisor to manage the day-to-day running of our stores/warehouse on the day shift.
This is a hands-on role, so you’ll be responsible for managing stock and the stores team, while also helping with receiving deliveries, organising materials, picking orders and supplying production.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage the daily running of the stores and warehouse.
- Supervise and support the stores team.
- Receive deliveries and check goods against delivery paperwork.
- Store materials safely and keep stock locations organised.
- Pick and issue materials to the production team.
- Prepare and dispatch goods when required.
- Keep stock records accurate using the company’s stock system.
- Carry out regular stock checks and investigate any differences.
- Monitor stock levels and request new stock when needed.
- Make sure urgent production requirements are dealt with quickly.
- Keep the warehouse clean, tidy and well organised.
- Make sure all materials are correctly labelled and stored.
- Work closely with Production, Purchasing and Operations.
- Train and support stores staff.
- Follow company Health & Safety and quality procedures.
- Carry out daily safety checks and report any issues.
- Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
- Help improve stores processes, stock control and efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in stores, warehouse or stock control, ideally at supervisor level.
- Good understanding of stock and inventory management.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confident managing and supporting a team.
- Able to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Forklift licence – essential.
- Manufacturing or engineering experience is a bonus.
- Knowledge of 5S, Lean or Continuous Improvement is beneficial.
