Tig Welder in Birmingham

Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced TIG Welder to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the Aston area.

THE ROLE

• . TIG weld aluminium and other materials to produce high-quality fabricated components.
• . Set up and operate TIG welding equipment to the required specifications.
• . Weld components accurately to engineering drawings, weld procedures and job specifications.
• . Prepare materials and components prior to welding, including cleaning, cutting and joint preparation.
• . Produce neat, consistent welds while maintaining high standards of quality and finish.
• . Carry out visual inspection of welds and identify any defects or areas requiring rework.
• . Use appropriate welding consumables, tooling and equipment for different applications.
• . Work with a range of sheet metal and fabricated components, maintaining required tolerances.
• . Complete basic finishing and fettling of welded components where required.
• . Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area and follow all company health & safety procedures.

ABOUT YOU

• . Previous experience as a TIG Welder within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• . Strong TIG welding experience, particularly on aluminium, is preferred.
• . Ability to produce clean, high-quality welds with good attention to appearance and consistency.
• . Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications.
• . Good understanding of welding preparation, consumables and equipment settings.
• . Experience working with sheet metal and fabricated components is desirable.
• . Able to inspect own work and maintain high-quality standards.
• . Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately to production requirements.
• . Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently or as part of a busy fabrication team.

14:00pm – 22:00pm

PAY RATE

£15.00ph - £17.00ph depending on experience
