Position Summary
The Business Analyst and System Administrator position is a high visibility, high impact role with broad scope across the Multifamily business line as well as the related Legal and Finance functions with whom the business line is dependent. Projects address Business Development, Underwriting, Management, Housing Stability, and Legal needs. The role is responsible for oversight of all Multifamily business systems including user security administration and support, new user training, data security concerns, cyber security requirements, business system software upgrades, and legacy system maintenance and/or retirement. The position also discovers and documents new system requirements and assists with projects to develop and/or procure new software solutions. The Business Analyst and System Administrator often interfaces with the IT department for internally developed software and acts as a Multifamily representative on the Agency’s security committee and other Agency wide initiatives. The position is an excellent platform for a high-capacity technical individual to learn the business of affordable housing multi-family lending and to contribute to the social impact of that work. This position reports to the Senior Business Analyst Supervisor.
The Business Analyst and System Administrator is an energetic team player with a high capacity for attaining new business knowledge and understanding complex business problems. The role requires an innate ability to identify business needs and processes and translate them into technical requirements. In addition to being technically qualified, the Business Analyst and System Administrator is ambitious, articulate, charismatic, creative, curious, and organized, and can engage respectfully, effectively, and independently with senior and executive level staff. Exceptional oral and written communication are critical, along with the ability to lead group meetings and conduct engaging training sessions. A proven history of problem-solving and critical thought is essential. MassHousing operates under a hybrid work model; therefore, employees are expected to work on-site according to a schedule determined in collaboration with their manager and based on the needs of the role. To support effective onboarding, new employees may be required to work in the office more frequently during their first 90 days.
Essential Functions
Business Analyst
- Provide Cognos report writing, SQL queries, and data analysis using excel
- Assist with high visibility, cross-functional, business process improvement projects on behalf of the multifamily business line
- Produce high quality requirements and workflow documentation
Business System Administration and IT Liaison
- Administer user security for all multifamily software systems and conduct regular review of access
- Manage software upgrade testing and deployments as necessary
- Assist with software development/procurement projects on behalf of the multifamily business line
- Develop low and no-code solutions using various business software
- Represent Multifamily business line on Agency security committee and other Agency-wide initiatives
- Monitor service requests, triage appropriately, and make assignments to teammates
- Maintain department request backlog and facilitate backlog grooming sessions
Security
- Comply with MassHousing’s Information Security Program and all other Agency information security policies and procedures
- Take responsibility for any Agency assets assigned to you
- Promptly report any security events, incidents, or weaknesses to MassHousing’s Information Security Team
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, business analytics, or related field
- 4+ years relevant work experience with increasing levels of responsibility
- Previous experience with agile project management concepts
- Previous experience with IBM Blueworks or similar
- Previous experience with Cognos BI reporting or similar
- Previous experience with Lean Management principles or similar
- Ability to create high-quality documentation using Microsoft Office tools
- Eligibility to work in, and travel freely to and from, the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with affordable housing, mortgage lending, and/or real estate
- Previous experience with SQL or similar
- Previous experience with Excel developer tools or similar
Salary Range: $ 86,572.50 – $112,544.25
