This new role has been created to drive and deliver the organisation’s fundraising programme incorporating direct mail (acquisition and retention) telephone and digital fundraising platforms, and high-value fundraising working with corporate partners and major donors.

You will contribute to the development and delivery of a donor acquisition and retention programme, helping us understand and attract new, committed supporters who are inspired by our work.

You will work closely with the Development Manager to acquire new donors; develop supporter journeys and improve donor retention; implement individual giving campaigns (including RG campaigns and appeals); and support stewardship event opportunities for potential corporate and major donors.

The role will work across the Audience Development and Fundraising team to utilise audience insight and evaluate campaigns activity to grow income and engagement. This will involve project managing cross-organisation campaigns across all channels to deliver against KPls and objectives.

As an accomplished communicator, you will be able to write engaging content to a wide variety of donors, ensuring that they feel personally connected to us. You will also work with our data and administration teams to ensure effective response handling and excellent customer care and that our supporter care systems and processes are efficiently maintained and delivered, ensuring donors have the optimal experience.

This is an exciting new role, contributing to the development and implementation of our income generation strategy. Guided by best practice, analysis and insight, and strategic objectives, you will have a proven track record of excellent project management skills and knowledge of managing a diverse development portfolio.

Reporting to the Development Manager, this role works closely with colleagues across the organisation, incorporating budget management, database/CRM management, digital marketing, and social networks (with the Marketing Team)., Work with the Development Manager to deliver the fundraising strategy to raise annual income growth in line with the organisation’s strategic direction.

Work across the team to develop new fundraising products and maintain existing income driving activities.

Responsible for delivering individual campaign metrics and data analysis to increase income, working closely with the Senior Database Administrator. This includes the growth and retention of donors, ensuring the campaigns are continually optimised and fundraising opportunities are identified. This includes testing, monitoring and reporting of metrics such as open rates, click-throughs, unsubscribes, complaints, donations, content and other engagement indicators.

Write and create content based on a solid understanding of donor acquisition and stewardship, ensuring communications with donors are personal, relevant, compelling and impactful.

Create, implement and develop insight-driven supporter journeys, including welcome, regular giving, conversion, upgrade and reactivation journeys, which aim to increase engagement and drive long-term relationships.

Manage donors in the organisation’s engagement and email platform (Engaging Networks). This includes general database management and reporting, marketing and comms, personal data (consent) and data quality.

Deliver stewardship and fundraising events to support high-value prospects and donors.

Work with our corporate partners and high-value donors to provide excellent stewardship opportunities and stewardship management working closely with senior colleagues.

Maintain best practice surrounding fundraising and supporter care, ensuring compliance with the organisation’s policies and GDPR, the fundraising regulator, PECR and other areas of relevant legislation.

Work with the organisation’s administration team and third party processors to provide a professional supporter and customer care service ensuring that all telephone, email, social media, postal donations, information requests, queries or complaints are processed, fulfilled and recorded accurately, and promptly.

Manage the administration of fundraising platforms such as Just Giving, Give as You Live, CAFOD, Amazon Smile etc.

Undertake any other duties consistent with the post and assist with other areas of work as required.

An enthusiastic self-starter with a hands-on approach, you will be capable of working independently or as part of a multi-disciplined team. Your development knowledge and experience will help advance animal protection on the international stage., Experience of implementing and evaluating effective integrated fundraising strategies that have created shifts in the income generating capacity of an organisation.

Demonstrable success in project management and knowledge of how to effectively monitor and evaluate the success of campaigns and communications.

Creative approach, with the ability to develop and produce engaging and compelling written content.

Experience in analysing and segmenting data to produce target audiences and insights to inform and improve campaigns and communications

Experience:

Excellent IT skills, including expertise in CRM databases and email marketing systems (Engaging Networks preferable), tools and processes.

Experience of managing and delivering fundraising and stewardship events.

Proven track record of developing and stewarding relationships with mid-value and high-value donors.

A proven self-starter with the ability to prioritise and deliver high quality work, excellent team working and collaboration across the wider organisation.

Positive and can-do attitude. Willingness to undertake a range of activities and a flexible approach to working in a small charity.

Ensure compliance with data protection, information security and confidentiality principles.

Experience of dealing with supporter enquiries and managing complaints
