Underwrite and price regional UK commercial property risks in line with underwriting guidelines, appetite, and delegated authority. Drive profitable growth through accurate underwriting of new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments. Respond to broker enquiries received via online quote platforms, email, and direct submissions. Build and maintain strong broker relationships across regional UK markets, with existing broker contacts considered highly advantageous. Ensure underwriting decisions are technically sound, compliant with FCA regulations, and meet service level expectations. Contribute to product development and refinement based on broker feedback, market trends, and risk appetite. Collaborate with internal teams including operations, compliance, and sales to ensure smooth policy lifecycle management. Use data and reporting tools to monitor performance, identify trends, and support continuous improvement. Represent the brand positively through professional communication and a strong service ethic.

Key Accountabilities

  • Meeting and where possible, exceeding brokers service levels and expectations.
  • Identifies cover and hazards that will impact on the acceptance, pricing, or terms applicable to a risk.
  • Understands the impact of claims and risk management on the performance of a case and demonstrates an ability to review taking these factors into account.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key trading partners to maximize influence.
  • Support the development and operation of sales campaigns to drive the acquisition of profitable business.

  • Maintain and develop market awareness.
  • Maintain good working relationships with all internal departments.
  • Maintain an open communication ethos with colleagues and managers.
