This role plays a key part in embedding compliance across the business, providing guidance and support to colleagues, and ensuring that the business operates in line with regulatory expectations. We are open to considering a senior candidate who could provide secondary support or step into a team leader capacity, helping to guide and develop the wider compliance team where needed.
You will:
- Act as a trusted compliance advisor to business areas, providing guidance on regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of compliance frameworks.
- Identify and escalate compliance risks and recommend practical solutions.
- Prepare reports for senior management and regulators as required.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to colleagues, acting as a secondary point of support or leadership within the compliance function.
Key duties:
- Act as initial point of contact for compliance support and advice (Business Partner) to provide clear, practical guidance on regulatory obligations, emerging risks and industry expectations.
- Provide required support to the Senior Compliance Manager and the wider Compliance Team to ensure effective delivery of compliance activities and priorities.
- Use strong influencing skills to challenge constructively and secure commitment to compliant, customer-focused outcomes.
- Support Conduct Risk mitigation through knowledge of departmental practices.
- Provide input and communicate compliance and customer outcomes performance results to Regional Managing Directors, Specialism Leads and management.
Regulation:
- Lead and deliver fair value and product reviews, assessing product performance, customer outcomes and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct regular reviews of the Group Panels and Products Registers to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct compliance reviews, thematic assessments and deep dives to identify risks, control weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
Customer Journey and Documentation:
- Conduct regular terms of business reviews, identifying inaccuracies, inconsistencies and required updates.
- Support the design, development and maintenance of customer journeys and associated documentation and processes.
Lloyds Expertise (Desirable):
- Provide support and guidance on Lloyds processes and requirements where relevant.
Compliance Policies & Procedures:
- Maintain the company’s compliance policies and procedures to ensure ongoing adherence to regulatory obligations.
Acquisition & Integration Support:
- Support integration activities, working in conjunction with the Compliance M&A Team and Senior Compliance Manager.
Key requirements:
- Strong understanding of FCA compliance requirements across commercial and retail insurance business.
- Knowledge of ICOBS and SMCR regulations, with the ability to provide practical, commercially focused advice.
- Familiarity with insurance broking operations, including both traditional and non-traditional lines.
- Experience in a broking or operational role within the UK insurance market.
- CII, ICA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Knowledge of Lloyds London Market processes and regulations.
