*** OUTSTANDING PROGRESSIVE OPPORTUNITY *** Underwriting Assistant – Commercial Insurance Purpose of Role/Job Overview As an experienced Underwriting Assistant, you will be immediately trained up to quickly progress to become an Assistant Underwriter with every opportunity to develop to full Underwriter level.
You will provide efficient, timely and professional support to brokers, initially for Existing Business and mid term adjustments, but will be trained and fast tracked to write new business, initially on smaller risk enquiries as you develop your underwriting skills.
You must have previous experience in Property Liability for the SME Commercial package policies and at least 2 years’ experience within underwriting.
You will assist the business to achieve income and profit objectives through the new business team, determine policy terms and calculate premiums in line with authority levels, demonstrate your contribution to loss ratio control by effectively adhering to Company's underwriting controls and positively reinforce and display company values and to actively drive the business forward in achieving its objectives.
Key
Accountabilities: Meeting and where possible, exceeding brokers service levels and expectations.
Identify cover and hazards that will impact on the acceptance, pricing, or terms applicable to a risk.
Understands the impact of claims and risk management on the performance of a case and demonstrates an ability to review taking these factors into account.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key trading partners to maximize influence.
Support the development and operation of sales campaigns to drive the acquisition of profitable business.
