The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
The primary role is to represent and defend clients' legal interests and provide specialist advice in the area of Industrial Disease, MOD, Personal Injury claims. This will include the main responsibilities given below.
- Manage a caseload made up of both pre and post litigated claims.
- Deal with and assist on more complex and higher value cases.
- Correspond with clients, insurers and other solicitors and liaise with Counsel and experts where appropriate.
- Analyse evidence and set case strategies encompassing both technical and commercial considerations and advise clients accordingly.
- Provide a timely, professional and high quality service to clients in the management of a high volume caseload.
- Where necessary interview witnesses and prepare witness statements.
- Attend external meetings/hearings/appointments as required by the business.
Client Relations:
- Provide a high-quality legal service to all clients.
- Develop and maintain good client relationship skills, gaining clients’ confidence and that of other professionals.
- Receive requests for legal advice from current and potential clients.
- Establish what needs to be done to solve a client’s problems.
- Offer advice on the law, legal procedures and a wide range of associated issues.
- Attend and represent at client meetings.
- Research documents and case history to ensure accuracy of advice and procedures.
- Represent clients in Courts where required.
Professional Standard:
- Work and behave in a professional manner and to the highest standards of the profession.
- Comply with all procedures, professional standards and any requirement set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
- Carry out duties given by senior management or employees faithfully and diligently and follow all reasonable instructions.
- Keep up to date with changes in the law.
- Record all chargeable hours.
- Comply with client service level agreements.
Key requirements:
- Be strategic and commercially aware with the firm's current strategy.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in Law and ideally having obtained a 2:1 or above although all applications will be considered.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience within Personal Injury/Industrial Disease/MOD.
- Can provide a relevant current Practicing Certificate if applicable.
- Relevant experience within a professional services firm.
