Broker Support Consultant – About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual from an insurance broking or underwriting environment who wants to step up to a Relationship role, or alternatively, an individual who has great customer service experience, and wants to deliver excellence and forge a career in the insurance sector

The successful candidate will provide broker support and assistance through inbound & outbound calls / emails to both prospective brokers who are going through the onboarding process and to those brokers who are already an established member of the network, within their given territory area or as allocated.

Broker Support Consultant – Key duties

The Broker Support will be the first response unit for all new & existing businesses who require assistance with a varied range of requests from onboarding, training, & Insurer support.

Duties will include ensuring that the different broker businesses have their queries and requests for help answered quickly, professionally, with a full focus on customer service and satisfaction.

Full ownership of brokers allocated to them with a “can do” approach to support day to day queries wherever these arise, by either resolving personally or escalating internally to the dedicated area.

Responsibility for retaining a Panel of Brokers and ensuring any internal systems are updated accordingly with relevant activity.

The arranging of regular meetings with your allocated brokers, whether virtually, telephone and potentially face-to-face appointments where a visit / travel is warranted.

Supporting the broker and being the ‘go-to’ for a whole host of queries with the aim of being a “critical friend” to the broker.

Responsible for the onboarding process as directed by Broker Development Manager/Broker Support Director for new members joining.

Broker Support Consultant – Key requirements

Minimum of 4 years’ experience in broking/insurer environment, or in a customer driven environment.

Strong customer service skills

Knowledge of Acturis, broking & Insurer processes *

Personal & Commercial Lines experience/knowledge *

Technical experience of broking for all product lines & with a strong customer focus *

Strong administration skills and paying attention to being detailed and specific

Ideal but willingness to train/build Insurance expertise/commence Cert CII accreditation

Completion of or working to Cert CII *

Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, & MS Power Point)
