OVERVIEW

The Rhode Island Energy Customer Choice Specialist will develop a working knowledge of the daily activities of the Company’s Customer Choice program, including monitoring daily activities, acting as a contact for natural gas marketers and large, high-volume choice program customers, and ensuring compliance with all internal, RIPUC, and FERC guidelines. Additionally, the Customer Choice Analyst assists team members with contract administration for natural gas marketers and large customers, allocates pipeline and storage capacity to natural gas marketers, and reports activities related to the choice program. The role requires gaining knowledge of new energy trading and risk management systems to ensure customer choice activity is accurately recorded.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the team in achieving Pipeline Operations goals and customer choice program objectives.
  • Support the natural gas business and the strategic direction of PPL RI.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and management compliance requirements of PPL RI.
  • Develop knowledge of the Company’s Customer Choice program, including providing nomination requirements to natural gas marketers and acting as a Company representative in communications with them.
  • Field inquiries from natural gas marketers and provide timely responses.
  • Support and develop understanding of new internal and external customer choice EBBs and computer systems.
  • Perform data entry and disseminate information as required.
  • Coordinate with Gas Control and Senior Customer Choice Specialist to issue Operational Flow Orders (OFOs) and track compliance of natural gas marketers with OFOs.
  • Assist with the monthly billing process for natural gas marketers.
  • Maintain knowledge of RIE’s pipeline and storage contracts and assist in regulatory filings related to natural gas deliveries.
  • Support implementation of approved program changes.
  • Provide periodic support to the Scheduling Desk.
