Fabwright Origins, based in Boston, MA, is a cutting-edge custom millwork and fabrication company committed to sustainable practices and zero-waste production. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Fabrication Technician to join our innovative, eco-conscious team. At Fabwright Origins, we prioritise green manufacturing techniques, upcycling, and resource efficiency. You will have the opportunity to work on custom furniture, cabinetry, and signage while contributing to a sustainable future.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Hands-On Fabrication
    • Use various tools and machines (CNC, laser cutting, 3D printing) to create furniture and products from wood, metal, and eco-friendly materials.
    • Work with upcycled and recycled materials to minimise waste.
    • Set up, operate, and maintain fabrication equipment to ensure smooth and energy-efficient production.
    • Help reduce waste by carefully handling materials and reusing scraps whenever possible.
  • Quality and Safety
    • Inspect products regularly to make sure they meet high-quality standards.
    • Follow safety rules and maintain a clean, eco-friendly workspace.
  • Planning and Execution
    • Complete tasks on time while reducing waste and energy use.
    • Help with maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
    • Occasionally assist with project installations outside the shop.
  • Teamwork
    • Collaborate with team members to create eco-friendly solutions.
    • Support your colleagues and share ideas on sustainable practices.

Qualifications

  • No formal education or specific experience is required, but experience with fabrication or CAD is a plus.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Positive attitude and teamwork spirit.
  • Passion for sustainability and the environment.
