Due to retirements, Lucius Beebe Memorial Library seeks two part-time librarians to join our Youth Services team serving children from birth through high school. The ideal candidates are collaborative and communicative, warm and outgoing, with a sense of humor and a commitment to providing excellent service in a welcoming environment. Ideal for a creative and curious librarian who loves learning and exploring new opportunities.

Two positions available; both include evening and Saturday:

  • 11 hours per week: Wednesday 5 pm-9 pm and Saturday 9 am - 5 pm
  • 16 hours per week: Monday 9 am - 1 pm, Thursday 4 - 9 pm, and Friday 10 am - 6 pm OR Saturday 9 am-5 pm (one Friday and two Saturdays in a 3-week rotation).

Positions are eligible for Sunday hours, as available, at time and a half.

Qualifications:

  • MLS or MLS candidate.
  • Requires familiarity with child and young adult development, literature, and programs, with focus on service that supports literacy and lifelong learning.

Education: BA/BSS

Salary Range: $33.16- $42.78/hour

Salary Notes: Position is in the Massachusetts Library Staff Association bargaining unit.
