Senior Library Technician (Circulation), Bolton Public Library (Bolton)
Due to a staff departure, Bolton Public Library seeks a personable, flexible, resourceful Senior Library Technician to work as part of a team at the main and children\’s circulation desks. The person selected for this position will assist with general circulation duties, including but not limited to the circulation of library materials, interlibrary loan, and basic in-person and telephone information services to library users of all ages; operating a variety of office machines including PCs; building security; and seeking continuing education opportunities. This position has frequent contact with the public, including interpretation of library and network policies.
This is a permanent, part-time position of up to 18 hours per week. Schedule is TBA but will require work on Thursday evenings until 8 p.m. and participation in the Saturday rotation (9:30 a.m. until 2:15 p.m.; works out to roughly one Saturday per month). Flexibility in scheduling is essential. THis position is not eligible for benefits.
Position will be open October 7, 2025 but starting earlier for training is possible.
Qualifications
Strongly preferred: library experience; familiarity with C/WMARS (Evergreen) software and with Libby (Overdrive app). Preferred: Bachelor\’s degree or equivalent plus 2 years of experience working in a public library. Required: demonstrated understanding of a PC-based work environment, excellent written and oral communication skills, satisfactory CORI result.
