Library Associate – Borrower Services, Reading Public Library (Reading)

Reading Public Library is searching for a part-time Library Associate in the Borrower Services department. The successful candidate will show they can provide high-quality, inclusive, and equitable library services and customer assistance to library users at the public service desks. They will be responsible for circulation of materials, facilitating patron access, maintaining patron confidentiality, building positive patron rapport, and creating a welcoming environment for visitors of all ages, abilities, and identities.

This is a part-time position that averages 20 hours per week and is eligible for benefits. The schedule is a mix of morning and afternoon shifts, with one evening shift and every third Saturday. This position is also eligible to work Sundays at 1.5 OT rates. Please refer to the Town of Reading Personnel Policy for details on part-time PTO and health benefits.

Salary range: $23.96-$25.10 per hour

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

1. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in any field;

2. Two (2) years of customer service experience, library experience preferred; or

3. Any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience, with additional work experience substituting for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
