The Sawyer Free Library in beautiful Gloucester, MA is looking for a dynamic, full-time adultservice Librarian (35 hours per week) to join our team.
Inthis role, you'll be the go-to person for adultservices—whether you're helping a neighbor track downtheir next great read, managing and refreshing the library'scollections, creating content for the website and socialmedia, or strengthening community partnerships.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the go-to person for adult services—help neighbors find their next great read, manage and refresh the library’s collections.
- Create content for the website and social media.
- Strengthen community partnerships and organize collaborative community programs.
- Plan, deliver, and promote adult programs.
Qualifications
- Masters in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association accredited library school required.
- Demonstrated reference and readers’ advisory skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of collection management policies, principles, practices and methods.
- Experience in outreach to the local community and developing partnerships.
- Experience in planning, delivering and promoting programs.
- Knowledge of Integrated Library System software.
- Knowledge of computers, operating systems, and other technology equipment; ability to perform basic tasks and troubleshooting such as installing software, resolving printing issues; proficiency with e-readers, tablets and mobile applications.
- Experience with specialized software such as e-mail services, social media interfaces, web content management software, etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the methods, practices, principles and procedures of professional public library work.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with the public, staff, external agencies, and to work as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering consistent, high quality customer service.
- Ability to self‑direct and initiate.
