Digital Navigator – Inter Department Position, Town of Somerset (Somerset)
The Town of Somerset seeks applicants for the position of Digital Navigator. This is a part-time position (19 hours per week), with an hourly wage range of $25.00 – $32.00, compensation based on experience. The Digital Navigator will work with the Somerset Public Library, Veterans Affairs, Somerset-Berkley Regional School Department, and Council on Aging in order to bring digital literacy and access to all members of the community.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess strong technology skills, customer service experience, patience & empathy, ability to work with other employees and supervisors. Ability to embrace the challenge of learning and teaching basic technological concepts related to internet services, computer and device characteristics, and common online services and applications. Computer proficiency, including experience with Google suite, MS Office programs, email and internet. Proficiency working with both i phones and androids. Demonstrated commitment to public service. Ability to work well independently. Excellent listening and oral communication skills. Excellent organization and scheduling skills. Preferred Experience : Demonstrated instructional experience, Experience helping or working with older adults and teenagers, experience with computer programs including MS office and google suite, demonstrated ability to multi-task, solve problems and overcome obstacles, previously holding described position or equivalent job functions.
