BiblioTemps® is an employment service of the Massachusetts Library System that provides experienced library workers for temporary placements in public, academic, and special libraries throughout Massachusetts.
The Forbush Memorial Library is seeking a friendly, dependable, helpful, customer service-oriented person to work as a Library Assistant.
The Library Assistant performs circulation duties including but not limited to:
- Greeting library patrons
- Checking books in and out
- Shelving books
- Issuing library cards
- Answering phone calls, assisting patrons, and answering questions
- Providing support for library programming
- Assisting technical services with collection maintenance
- Helping patrons reserve and checkout museum passes
Qualifications and Requirements:
- The ability to work with patrons of all ages and backgrounds
- Attention to detail
- The ability to work independently
- High School diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Preferred - Experience with Evergreen and Assabet
- Computer skills
Pay Rate: $17.50 per hour
