The Town of Boxford is accepting applications for a full-time Library Assistant for Adult Services at the Boxford Town Library. This position provides library services for patrons; performs a variety of routine clerical and manual work in circulating, acquiring and processing library materials, developing adult programming, and performs some bookkeeping tasks.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Previous library experience
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively with patrons of all ages.
- Ability to deal with all members of the public in a courteous and tactful manner.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and other libraries.
- General working knowledge of library principles and procedures.
- General knowledge of circulation policies and procedures highly desirable.
- Familiarity with automated library systems and related applications.
- Knowledge of standard office procedures, practices, forms, and equipment.
- Attention to detail and ability to organize workload.
- Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment.
- Must possess a valid Massachusetts Class D driver’s license and have own automobile.
- Must be experienced with or able to learn how to operate Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Canva, and Library Aware.
- Experience with or ability to learn how to operate automated library computer systems.
Full/Part Time: Full Time

Salary: $25.91/hour
