MASS is growing its team at Portsdown West, Fareham, Hampshire, where our engineers, scientists and technical specialists work alongside Dstl to deliver advanced defence research and operational capability support. We're looking for an RF Signature Analyst to join the team, supporting RF and electromagnetic signature analysis (Including RCS), computational modelling and data analysis across some of the UK's most challenging defence programmes. You'll assess electromagnetic signatures of advanced air systems, providing technical insight to support critical defence capability decisions.

Location: This is a full-time on-site role at Dstl Portsdown West, Fareham, where you'll work closely with customers and technical specialists in a highly collaborative environment.

How you'll support us:

  • Assess RF signatures using computational modelling and simulation techniques
  • Modify and prepare CAD models for electromagnetic analysis
  • Run simulations and analyse results to support technical assessments
  • Investigate target configurations, materials and signature characteristics
  • Produce technical reports and customer-facing documentation
  • Work closely with Dstl analysts and MOD stakeholders to deliver evidence-based recommendations

Essential experience:

  • An understanding of radar cross section (RCS) assessment, reduction or design
  • Experience in computational electromagnetics and/or RF free-space measurements, (e.g. RCS, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), antenna testing, or similar)
  • Data analysis and interpretation of complex datasets
  • Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks or RhinoCAD
  • STEM degree

It would be great if you also have:

  • Understanding of Linux environments and High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems, including Slurm
  • Understanding of advanced combat air, weapons or UAS (Uncrewed Air Systems) capabilities
  • Experience within the defence sector and/or an understanding of survivability concepts and threat detection, tracking and engagement

  • Due to the highly secure nature of the projects that you will be involved with, you must be a UK National and eligible to work in the UK
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a UK Government Security Check (SC) level security clearance
