Salary: £50,000 - £65,000

We’re a technical consultancy, partnering with UK government on mission-critical projects, and we’re looking for an experienced project manager to head up our new Project Controls Office. Working to the Programme Manager you will be responsible for establishing and then managing the day-to-day running of the office; overseeing the tasking and outputs of the team and administering its efficient running such that maximum business benefit is realised.

You’ll play a vital role in the implementation of UK defence policy, collaborating closely with industry-leading technical experts and Ministry of Defence colleagues on assured delivery of this important national endeavour. As the only team in the country delivering this output, innovation is part of our DNA and we’re always looking to push boundaries and deliver more for our customers – because we know how high the stakes can be.

The role demands discretion and commitment; you’ll need to work on site and maintain a high level of UK security clearance.   • Strong working knowledge of both waterfall and agile project management principles and best practices.
  • Keen eye for detail and excellent grasp of risk management.
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional managers and stakeholders to ensure resources are in place to deliver on projects.
  • Successfully contribute to the management of the commercial aspects of a technical business.

  • Developing and maintaining a contracted programme of work with a focus on establishing and maturing a robust delivery governance structure to deliver against KPIs.
  • Delivery using a mixture of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Our non-negotiables:

  • Must be a sole UK National.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a UK Government Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an equivalent role.
  • Proven experience of leading multiple teams to deliver a coherent programme of work to contracted KPIs.
  • Excellent negotiator and accomplished communicator.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products.
