This is a full‑time, on‑site role at Dstl Portsdown West, Fareham. The RF Signature Analyst will work closely with customers and technical specialists in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assess RF signatures using computational modelling and simulation techniques.
  • Modify and prepare CAD models for electromagnetic analysis.
  • Run simulations and analyse results to support technical assessments.
  • Investigate target configurations, materials and signature characteristics.
  • Produce technical reports and customer‑facing documentation.
  • Collaborate with Dstl analysts and MOD stakeholders to deliver evidence‑based recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of radar cross section (RCS) assessment, reduction or design.
  • Experience in computational electromagnetics and/or RF free‑space measurements (e.g. RCS, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), antenna testing).
  • Data analysis and interpretation of complex datasets.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or RhinoCAD.
  • STEM degree.
  • UK National and eligible to work in the UK.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a UK Government Security Check (SC) level security clearance.

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of Linux environments and High‑Performance Computing (HPC) systems, including Slurm.
  • Understanding of advanced combat air, weapons or UAS (Uncrewed Air Systems) capabilities.
  • Experience within the defence sector and/or understanding of survivability concepts and threat detection, tracking and engagement.
