We are seeking a highly disciplined, detail-obsessed, and commercially astute IT Project Manager to lead the delivery of critical technology initiatives under a major UK Ministry of Defence (Mo D) contract.
This role demands an uncompromising approach to delivery governance combined with sharp commercial instincts.
As the absolute guardian of project scope, timelines, and budgets, you will manage complex technical delivery while ensuring strict adherence to Mo D frameworks and Defence Digital standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Defence Governance & Scope
Control: Establish and enforce strict project baselines.
Aggressively manage scope creep, ensuring all changes are rigorously evaluated for technical, financial, and security impacts.
- Commercial & Financial
Oversight: Direct project burn rates, vendor Statements of Work (SOWs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Ensure micro-level financial tracking to protect project margins and maximize return on investment (ROI).
- Meticulous Documentation & Controls: Maintain hyper-accurate, audit-ready project plans, Risk/Issue registers (RAID logs), dependency maps, and technical requirements with zero tolerance for ambiguity.
- Quality & Technical
Assurance: Audit technical deliverables against stringent Mo D acceptance criteria.
Predict, isolate, and mitigate delivery risks before they threaten milestone timelines.
- Stakeholder & Contract
Management: Translate complex engineering timelines, risk profiles, and commercial metrics into razor-sharp, data-backed reports for senior defence stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Required Qualifications & Experience
- Project
Delivery: 5+ years of experience leading complex IT infrastructure, secure software development, or enterprise systems integration projects, ideally within the UK Defence, Aerospace, or Central Government sectors.
- Commercial Acumen: Proven track record managing multi-million-pound budgets, tracking supplier performance, and handling complex public-sector or defence-framework procurement.
- Methodology & Frameworks: Deep practical knowledge of structured frameworks (e. g., PRINCE2, Agile, or hybrid models) aligned with Mo D project control processes.
- Tools: Expert-level mastery of precision project tracking systems (e. g., MS Project, Jira).
- Security Clearance & Nationality Requirements
- Nationality: Due to the highly sensitive nature of the information, assets, and systems associated with this programme, this position is open to Sole British Nationals only.
