About Mason's Meats

We make premium beef jerky and meat snacks using just two ingredients: British and Irish grass-fed beef and sea salt.

No additives.

No sugar.

No nonsense.

We are a DTC brand selling across the UK, EU, Middle East and other regions currently.

At our core, we’re more than just a meat snack business. We’re not a product, we’re a movement - a return to real food in a world full of chemicals, fillers and artifice.

We’re launching in the USA and building our production facility in Austin, Texas.

We’ll be using gold standard grass fed, grass finished American beef and bringing in our amazing salt from Anglesey that we use in the UK.

Important; applications without a covering letter will be discarded.

The Role

Retention is a big lever in our business.

You’ll own how our customers come back.

Everything after the first order falls under your remit: email and SMS, subscriptions, loyalty, affiliates (which we are building out in Q3).

You’ll help shape how these programmes evolve, what gets built next and how we create a brand people actively want to come back to.

We’re a small and nimble team: design, brand, paid and retention all work closely together.

This is a hands-on role.

You’ll be in Klaviyo building the campaigns and flows, not spending your day writing briefs for agencies or sitting in meetings discussing ideas.

You’ll be doing ideation, building emails, creating flows, launching campaigns, analysing results, testing new ideas and iterating.

There isn’t an executive beneath you or a CRM team - you are the team

In return you get unusual freedom: these programmes are yours to shape, and you’ll work directly with our Head of Growth and Head of Brand, who will treat you as the expert on retention.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Own Klaviyo end to end: campaigns, flows, segmentation, deliverability, testing
  • Build retention strategies that increase repeat purchase, customer lifetime value and subscription growth.
  • Design and grow a loyalty programme customers genuinely care about. Own and optimise our Recharge subscription programme.
  • Develop testing roadmaps and continuously improve performance.
  • Report on the numbers that matter, understanding not just what happened but why.
  • Own the loyalty programme and make it something customers actually care about
  • Manage our affiliate programme on Superfiliate
  • Own the retention numbers that matter and report on them honestly - we don’t spend ages each month on writing decks that nobody reads; we distill the key topline numbers that matter weekly
  • Work closely with Growth, Brand and Design to make retention feel like part of the brand, not an afterthought.

We have a strong voice and a comprehensive style guide - you’ll be able to apply that, not reinvent it.

Who you are

  • You’ve run retention for a DTC brand and have the numbers to show for it
  • You are fluent in Klaviyo
  • You’ve worked with Recharge or equivalent subscription tooling
  • You write well. You don’t rely on AI to do the thinking or writing for you. We can spot AI-default copy a mile off, and so can our customers
  • You are allergic to generic ecom retention. You know what a default winback flow looks like and you build nothing that resembles it
  • You’ll probably enjoy this role if… you like ownership; you enjoy both creative and analytical work; you like seeing your ideas go live quickly; you want your work to have a measurable impact on the business.
  • You probably won’t enjoy this role if… you prefer large teams; you want someone else to execute your ideas; you dislike moving quickly or changing direction when the data tells us to
  • Nice to have
  • Food or premium FMCG brand experience
  • Experience with Superfiliate or other affiliate platform
  • Experience scaling subscription business
