About Mason's Meats
At our core, we’re more than just a meat snack. We’re not a product, we’re a movement - a return to real food in a world full of chemicals, fillers and artifice. We make premium beef jerky and meat snacks using just two ingredients: premium British and Irish grass-fed beef and sea salt. No additives. No sugar. No nonsense.
We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to lead our production team and uphold the highest standards of quality, consistency and food safety as we continue to grow. Join us and help make the best beef jerky in the world!
The Role
As Team Leader in Food Production at Mason’s Meats, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day production of our jerky and meat snacks. You will oversee the full process — from raw beef handling through to dehydration and packaging — while coaching the team, maintaining rigorous quality standards and ensuring efficient, hygienic operations.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has already proven they can deliver exceptional results in high-quality food production environments. You'll report to our Production Manager.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Lead and supervise the production team across meat handling, slicing, seasoning, dehydration and packaging.
Ensure all products meet our exacting quality standards, with consistent flavour, texture and presentation.
Oversee safe handling of raw premium British and Irish grass-fed beef, enforcing strict quality and hygiene criteria at every stage.
Manage dehydrator operations to achieve perfect consistency and product quality.
Conduct regular quality checks and implement corrective actions where needed.
Maintain full compliance with food safety regulations and a clean, organised production environment.
Train, coach and support team members, fostering high standards and continuous improvement.
Monitor production targets, workflows and stock while minimising waste.
Act as a key point of contact for production issues, quality concerns and process improvements..
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in high-standard, quality-focused food production (meat processing or similar highly regulated environments strongly preferred).
Proven ability to lead a team and maintain consistently high quality and hygiene standards.
Strong attention to detail and precision in production processes, recipes and packaging.
Thorough understanding of food hygiene and safety principles.
Physical fitness for a hands-on role involving standing for long periods, repetitive tasks and lifting up to 50kg.
Team-orientated mindset with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to complete further food safety training (CIEH or equivalent) as required.
Genuine interest in meat and high-quality food production.
- £40,000 starting salary + performance related bonus + overtime

- On-the-job training and potential for professional development.
