The main purpose of this role is to support business operations and customer demand to ensure the safe and efficient receipt of products from production into the warehouse; the safe and effective storage of product; and the timely despatch of products from the warehouse.
Main responsibilities:
- To pick products correctly and accurately, and in line with specified deadlines.
- Be accountable for the quality of the work you carry out.
- Move stock around either by hand, using lifting equipment or a forklift truck.
- Load goods for dispatch.
- Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of product is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures.
- Operate in a safe manner complying with all health, safety, and environmental requirements to ensure own and safety of others.
- Demonstrate personal integrity by being trustworthy and honest.
Qualifications & experience:
- GCSEs level D-G, Key Skills Level 1, NVQ Level 1, International Vocational Certificate (IVQ).
- A counterbalance forklift truck licence and or VNA licence is essential.
- Must have previous order picking experience.
- An excellent timekeeper and able to demonstrate good attendance in previous employment.
- Trustworthy, open, honest and constructive.
- Flexible in your approach to duties and tasks; able to adapt to both current and future business needs.
- Able to demonstrate a good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor quality.
- Willing to undergo training on low level order picking trucks.
- A high level of numeracy and literacy is required as work is allocated through data terminals.
