Are you a hands-on Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for a better work-life balance? We're recruiting for a well-established packaging manufacturer in Winsford, offering a permanent days role with a 4-day working week. This is a busy, fast-paced manufacturing environment where you'll play a key role in keeping production running efficiently across multiple filling lines. We're looking for someone with a strong electrical bias who enjoys fault finding, problem solving and working as part of a close-knit engineering team.

The Role

You'll be responsible for the maintenance, repair and continuous improvement of production equipment, ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum. This is a reactive, hands-on position where no two days are the same.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding quickly to equipment breakdowns and carrying out effective fault finding.
  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery.
  • Electrical and mechanical repairs on a variety of manufacturing equipment.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to improve machine reliability and efficiency.
  • Working closely with production to minimise downtime and maximise output.
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety.

About You

We're open to candidates from a range of manufacturing backgrounds, but you'll ideally have:

  • A recognised engineering qualification (Electrical, Mechanical or Multi-Skilled).
  • A strong electrical bias with good fault-finding skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently.

Experience with any of the following would be highly advantageous:

  • Filling lines
  • Capping machines
  • Coding equipment
  • Labelling machines
  • Packaging machinery

We appreciate that finding someone who has worked on exactly the same equipment can be difficult, so we're happy to consider engineers with transferable manufacturing experience and the right attitude.

What's on Offer

  • £40,000 salary (depending on experience).
  • Permanent days role.
  • 4-day working week (Monday to Thursday, 7:00am-5:00pm).
  • Optional Friday overtime (7 hours available when required, but not compulsory).
  • Stable, long-term opportunity with a growing packaging manufacturer.
  • Varied and hands-on role where you'll make a real impact on production.

If you're an electrically biased Multi-Skilled Engineer looking for a days-based role with a long weekend every week, we'd love to hear from you.
