We are looking for an experienced PLC Software Engineer to join a dynamic team working on cutting-edge industrial automation projects. This role offers the opportunity to develop, commission, and optimise control systems for a variety of automated machinery and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- PLC Programming: Development using Siemens TIA Portal and/or Allen Bradley Studio 5000, including ladder logic, STL, and SCL.
- HMI Development: Designing and implementing intuitive operator interfaces.
- Onsite Commissioning: Working with conveyor control, machine interfaces, safety controllers, and motor control.
- Industrial Communication: Expertise in Profinet, Ethernet, and Profibus.
- Project Management: Managing onsite engineering projects in collaboration with project leads.
- Software Development & Testing: Creating and refining bespoke control solutions, ensuring compliance with BS-EN13849 safety standards.
- Technical Documentation: Producing industry-standard documentation with detailed diagrams and technical specifications.
- Field Support: Providing 2nd-line support for troubleshooting and resolving issues, both remotely and onsite.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Strong background in logistics industry and proven experience as PLC software engineer.
- Programming Experience: Siemens TIA Portal and/or Allen Bradley Studio 5000, including ladder logic, STL, and SCL.
- Qualifications: Level 4 qualification in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel for onsite work if necessary (working from home options in the meantime are available).
- Communication Skills: Ability to deliver clear technical analysis and feedback.
- Driving License: Full UK license.
