Multi Skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer £56,000 per year including shift allowance + overtime opportunities. 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts (days one week, nights the next).

About the Role

We are looking for an Electrical Shift Engineer to join our team. This is a hands-on role where you will maintain, improve, and troubleshoot site equipment while driving safety, reliability, and efficiency. You will work proactively and reactively, prioritising breakdowns in line with business needs and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site. An electrical bias is desirable, alongside mechanical and general engineering skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform planned and predictive maintenance, as well as ad hoc repairs, prioritising work to ensure production continuity.
  • Manage critical spares and stock levels, escalating issues to the Engineering Manager.
  • Conduct maintenance and servicing safely, championing a zero-harm culture.
  • Use root cause analysis to prevent repeat breakdowns and improve operational reliability.
  • Support the energy reduction and sustainability agenda, helping reduce environmental impact.
  • Participate in daily and weekly review sessions, sharing knowledge and driving improvements.
  • Support and mentor new team members.

What We’re Looking For

  • Relevant engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Experience within FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing environments desirable.
  • Awareness of Legionella and HACCP compliance.
  • Experienced in CMMS systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of Reliability Management techniques (FMECA, RCM, Tribology, CBM, TPM, etc.).
  • Multi-skilled with a preference for electrical bias, but training can be provided.
