We are recruiting for an Electrical Engineer with strong PLC experience to join a well-established international manufacturing business based in Diss. This is a hands-on, autonomous role focused on fault finding, troubleshooting, and supporting complex electrical and control system issues across a live production environment.
The Role
You’ll act as the go-to escalation point for medium to high-level electrical and electronic faults, particularly where issues go beyond obvious breakdowns. The role involves regular hands-on support to breakdowns, with a strong emphasis on root cause analysis and long-term solutions. You’ll be heavily involved with PLCs, drives, and control systems, working across both legacy and modern equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced electrical and electronic fault finding (PLCs, drives, sensors)
- PLC and drive programming/modifications (modification experience considered)
- Supporting breakdowns and improving system reliability
- Obsolescence reviews and component upgrades
- Delivering small automation projects (panel rewires, upgrades, energy initiatives)
- Supporting larger upgrade projects, including PLC migrations (e.g. S5 to S7)
- Working closely with OEMs, while remaining hands-on and self-sufficient
