As a Senior Engineering Geologist, you’ll play a pivotal role in every stage of the project from inception to completion, from managing clients and subcontractors, being on-site working with our team to complete testing and supervising, and managing site investigation or working in the office to analyse data and complete accurate interpretive reports; no two days will be the same. You will be working within a supportive and collaborative team across a wide range of geological settings and ground hazards, contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects across Scotland. In this role, you’ll be able to develop your engineering and geology skills, whether that be going for a professional chartership or accreditation or moving into managing large projects and teams – we’ll be here to support you and help you grow. This role offers a mixture of office and site-based work based around Scotland where no two weeks are the same. Our dynamic team delivers projects of all shapes and sizes — from major infrastructure schemes to local commercial and residential developments — giving you the chance to broaden your experience and develop your skills.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage intrusive investigations (e.g. drilling, sampling, in-situ testing)
  • Log soils and rocks to BS standards
  • Liaise and manage clients, subcontractors, and internal teams supporting our senior leaders to ensure our jobs run smoothly
  • Keep detailed site records, complete RAMS, and manage H&S documentation
  • Report writing and data interpretation skills
  • Take ownership of site activities, with strong support from experienced mentors as well as mentoring graduates.
  • Maintain accurate site records, logs, and daily reports
  • Ensure works are carried out in accordance with specifications, standards, and method statements
  • Data processing and report preparation as required

Who We’re Looking For

Enthusiastic engineering technicians who:

  • Have a relevant degree in geology, engineering or similar
  • 4+ Years in ground investigations
  • Thrive on working outdoors, independently and in teams
  • Knowledge and understanding of safe working and SHEQ Culture
  • Have a full UK driving licence and are happy to travel/stay away as needed
  • Experience of direct exposure to site works, decision making, risk assessment, basic design and implementation of projects

You may also have:

  • CSCS Card, First Aid, EUSR HSG47 CAT 1 & 2
  • Awareness of environmental legislation or industry H&S best practices
  • Desire to work towards a relevant chartership
