Credit Analyst, IG & HY in Vauxhall

DescriptionAn established investment management firm is looking to appoint a Credit Analyst to join its experienced Fixed Income investment team. The role sits at the heart of the investment process, with responsibility for developing views on corporate issuers and translating fundamental research into actionable investment ideas.

You will work closely with Portfolio Managers and other members of the investment team, covering a broad universe of corporate bonds across developed markets, with particular exposure to European, UK and North American credit.

Your responsibilities will include:

Undertaking detailed analysis of companies, sectors and capital structures to identify changes in credit quality and potential investment opportunitiesAssessing business models, competitive positioning, financial performance, cash generation, leverage, liquidity and balance-sheet strengthBuilding and maintaining financial models to test earnings, cash flow, leverage and downside assumptionsDeveloping differentiated views on individual issuers and translating these into clear, well-supported investment thesesEvaluating bonds and other credit instruments across the capital structure, with a focus on relative value and risk-adjusted returnWorking closely with Portfolio Managers to communicate research findings, investment views and trade ideasMaintaining close coverage of portfolio holdings and prospective investments, responding to earnings, corporate actions, rating changes and other material developmentsEngaging directly with company management, investor relations teams, sell-side analysts, rating agencies and other market participantsAssessing industry structure, competitive dynamics and broader economic factors that could affect an issuer's credit profileConsidering sustainability and ESG-related factors where they are relevant to creditworthiness and investment outcomesContributing to wider Fixed Income discussions, including macroeconomic, rates and sovereign considerations where relevant to corporate creditCandidate Profile:4-8 years of experience in credit research at an investment management firm or other institutional investment environmentStrong knowledge of corporate bond markets, particularly Investment Grade credit; High Yield experience would be beneficialExperience analysing issuers across one or more developed markets, with exposure to GBP, EUR and/or USD creditStrong financial modelling skills, xohmjla with the ability to interrogate financial statements and identify the key drivers of credit riskAn understanding of bond structures, capital structures, covenants and credit documentationIntellectual curiosity and a willingness to challenge consensus thinkingThe confidence to develop and defend investment views using rigorous, evidence-based analysisStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex research into concise conclusions for Portfolio Managers and investment teamMason Blake acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
