Job Description
A global asset management firm is seeking a Senior Analyst/Junior Portfolio Manager to join its top-performing Global Emerging Market Equity team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly collaborative, small team of Portfolio Managers and Analysts. The successful candidate will have generalist sector coverage with a particular focus on Latam and MENA markets.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth fundamental analysis on a variety of companies in EM ex Asia to generate investment recommendations
- Take an active role in portfolio management activities including security selection, position sizing, and portfolio construction
- Monitor portfolio holdings, maintain financial models and produce timely updates on company performance and outlook
- Perform macroeconomic analysis to drive portfolio construction and risk management
- Engage actively with portfolio companies on ESG and strategic issues
- Contribute to client engagement activities including portfolio reviews, investment presentations and supporting the growth of the GEM franchise
- Assist in the preparation of marketing materials and monthly investment commentaries
Candidate Requirements:
- 10-15 years of relevant EM equity research experience at a long-only asset manager or hedge fund
- Prior experience covering ex Asia EM regions, notable Latam and MENA as a generalist
- Flexible investment style aligned to a 1-2 year investment horizon
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Confident and effective public speaker who is adept at presenting and interacting with clients
- Strong academic background
- CFA qualification preferable
- Comfortable working in small teams with independent working style
