Our client, a global asset management firm is seeking an experienced Senior Fixed Income Portfolio Support Specialist to join an investment support function working closely with Portfolio Managers and Traders. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who thrives in a front office adjacent environment and is motivated by building strong, trusted in-person relationships with investment professionals.
The role requires deep technical knowledge of fixed income markets combined with strong operational expertise. You will act as a key partner to the investment desk providing insight and oversight across the full front-to-back investment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as the primary service partner to Portfolio Managers and Traders to ensure timely and accurate implementation of fixed income strategies.
- Monitor portfolio activity and movements, providing insights to the desk on liquidity, duration, and trading activity.
- Oversee daily cash flows and execute rebalancing proposals.
- Proactively engage with wider investment operations teams to resolve issues and deliver outcomes, with particular focus on settlements to minimise failed trades.
- Coach and mentor others in the team, supporting their technical development and ability to manage complex investment queries.
- Participate in ad hoc projects to drive process improvements including automation and system enhancements.
- Stay informed on market and global events, assessing potential impacts on investment processes and day-to-day operations and sharing insights with colleagues.
- Minimum 5 years experience in portfolio support, investment operations or fund managers assistant role within asset management.
- Strong expertise in fixed income investment markets.
- Experience using Aladdin or Charles River would be beneficial.
- Python and SQL experience strongly preferred.
- Holds IMC, CFA or other relevant industry qualification.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and develop team members.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence engaging senior investment stakeholders.
