The Opportunity
As a Senior Consultant – Infrastructure & Network Architecture, you will lead technical architecture workstreams, advise senior IT stakeholders, and shape solutions across infrastructure, cloud, networking, and telecommunications. You will combine strong technical depth with practical consulting experience, translating complex architecture into clear business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of infrastructure, network, and telecommunications architecture workstreams.
- Assess current-state IT infrastructure, networks, and telecoms environments.
- Design target-state architectures across data centres, cloud, networks, and connectivity.
- Define infrastructure and network standards, principles, and roadmaps.
- Support cloud and hybrid infrastructure strategies and migrations.
- Design secure, resilient, scalable network and connectivity solutions.
- Advise on availability, performance, resilience, and disaster recovery.
- Translate technical architecture into clear business and cost implications.
- Produce architecture artefacts, roadmaps, and executive-ready documentation.
- Manage day-to-day client relationships, workstreams, and stakeholder expectations.
- Coach and support junior consultants.
- Contribute to proposals and wider business development activity.
Knowledge & Experience
- Experience in infrastructure, network, telecoms, or architecture roles.
- Additional consulting experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience designing enterprise infrastructure and network solutions.
- Experience across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Strong understanding of networking technologies (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, firewalls, load balancing).
- Knowledge of telecommunications and connectivity solutions (MPLS, internet, mobile, unified communications).
- Understanding of SASE and the convergence of networking and security (zero trust).
- Awareness of 5G and its applicability to campus and MAN solutions.
- Familiarity with WAN/carrier services and modern SDN technologies.
- Experience delivering infrastructure change or migration programmes.
- Proven ability to engage senior IT stakeholders (CIO, CTO, Heads of Infrastructure).
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree or equivalent experience in IT, engineering, or related discipline.
- Relevant certifications desirable (CCNA/CCNP, AWS/Azure infrastructure certifications, ITIL).
- Strong technical and architectural problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance performance, resilience, security, and cost considerations.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Understanding of security, compliance, and operational requirements.
- Comfortable working in complex, multi-vendor environments.
