When the systems you run underpin products that protect lives, your work stops being IT support. It becomes part of the mission.

Our client is a privately owned British engineering business and a genuine world leader in its field. Their products operate in the most demanding, safety-critical environments imaginable, where they exist for one simple reason: when everything else has gone wrong, theirs has to work. Lives depend on it, and their reputation has been built on never letting those people down. That is the standard your work will be held to, and the standard you will help protect.

Every design released, every part manufactured and every product sustained flows through the PLM backbone you will own. Teamcenter is not a side system here. It is the digital thread running through a business where zero defects is a way of life, not a poster on the wall.

They are now looking for a Senior Teamcenter System Administrator to be the technical authority for that estate: designing, configuring, optimising and future-proofing the entire ecosystem, from Teamcenter and NX through to the integrations that connect engineering to the wider enterprise.

Why the best Teamcenter people will want this:

  • Genuine technical authority: you own the whole Teamcenter ecosystem, its architecture, its roadmap and its standards. Not a ticket queue, not one corner of someone else's estate.
  • Work that matters: your platform carries the engineering behind products where failure is simply not an option. Few PLM roles anywhere can say that.
  • Private ownership, long-term thinking: this business thinks in decades, not quarters. Long-term investment in engineering systems is a given, not a battle.
  • People who are proud of what they build: engineers here stay, because the work is fascinating and the products are extraordinary. You will be surrounded by people at the top of their discipline.
  • The complete picture: design, manufacture and sustainment under one roof, giving you the full end-to-end engineering lifecycle to shape.

What you will be doing:

  • Owning the estate: acting as senior technical authority for Teamcenter and associated PLM solutions, translating engineering and business needs into scalable, governed capabilities.
  • Building environments properly: defining and managing synchronised POC, sandbox, development, qualification and production environments to full DTAP standards, with high availability, security and disaster recovery built in.
  • Steering suppliers: shaping Statements of Work with third-party suppliers and ensuring delivery lands with minimal impact on production.
  • Protecting uptime: managing patching and upgrades to best practice so engineering never stops, and supporting Teamcenter, NX and related solutions day to day.
  • Raising the bar: mentoring IT and business colleagues, driving data quality and documenting to ITIL, ITSM and ISO9001 standards.

What you will bring:

  • Significant experience providing and sustaining databases and engineering application environments on Windows.
  • Deep Teamcenter configuration knowledge: stylesheets, workflow, change management, RAC and AWC.
  • Proficiency in Teamcenter BMIDE, TEM and Deployment Center.
  • Working knowledge of NX (CAD and CAM configuration) and its Teamcenter integrations.
  • A solid grasp of the engineering development cycle from design through manufacture, quality and PLM.
  • Strong skills across relational databases, visualisation tools and the wider stack (Oracle/SQL, Java, .Net).
  • A hands-on, meticulous approach and the credibility to influence decisions and drive best practice.
  • Degree-level education with extensive TC/NX support experience.

Exposure to large-scale PLM transformation, SAP or Planisware would be a welcome bonus. Due to the nature of the client's work, eligibility for UK security clearance may be required.
