Job Summary:
Houston Skilled Consultancy is currently seeking experienced and reliable Forklift Truck Operators with a valid Counterbalance License to join our growing logistics and warehousing operations. As a Forklift Truck Operator, you will be responsible for safely loading, unloading, and transporting materials using counterbalance forklifts, while ensuring workplace safety and productivity standards are met. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where precision and safety are key.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate counterbalance forklifts to move goods and materials around the warehouse or industrial site.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles and ensure items are stored in the correct locations.
- Conduct daily equipment checks and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs.
- Follow company safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with inventory control by accurately recording goods received and dispatched.
- Support warehouse staff with general logistics duties when required.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid and up-to-date Counterbalance Forklift License (RTITB or ITSSAR recognized).
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent spatial awareness.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Physically fit and capable of handling heavy lifting (within HSE limits).
- Basic verbal and written communication skills in English.
Experience:
- Minimum 6 months to 2 years of proven experience operating a counterbalance forklift in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
- Experience with inventory software and warehouse systems is a plus but not mandatory.
Working Hours:
- Day and Night Shifts available
- Flexibility to work weekends, overtime, or rotating shifts as required
- Typical shifts:
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Night Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth understanding of forklift operation safety standards.
- Familiarity with basic warehouse documentation and reporting.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and multi-task under pressure.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
