The current Executive Chef has successfully funded the building of three homes over the past ten years. You will also enjoy a full range of activities and the island lifestyle on your two days off per week.

The food philosophy focuses on world-class ingredients, exceptional seafood, beautiful presentation, and flavours that allow the produce to shine. The local fish is regarded as some of the finest globally.

This role is not for someone chasing Michelin Stars or corporate moves. We seek established Executive Chefs and Executive Head Chefs with experience in fine dining, luxury hotels, or high-standard rosetted environments (minimum 2 Rosette level or equivalent).

While technical ability is important, personality, leadership style, and lifestyle fit are equally critical. The island community values relationships, simplicity, and a slower pace of life. Candidates who thrive here often appreciate the outdoors and community living.

Life on a remote paradise island is rewarding but comes with challenges such as weather impacts on deliveries and ingredient availability. The successful candidate must be calm under pressure, practical, resourceful, and adaptable.

Experience in remote locations, rural environments, destination hotels, or close-knit communities is advantageous. Those who enjoy fishing, gardening, foraging, and outdoor activities may find this opportunity appealing.

This position is ideal for someone seeking more than just a job; we are looking for a long-term Executive Chef and partner excited about becoming part of a unique island community.

The kitchen serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, alongside picnics, BBQ experiences, and changing menus. Candidates should be highly organised, adaptable, and comfortable working with fresh produce across multiple service styles. Strong fish preparation skills and a solid knowledge of pastry and bakery are essential.

Experience managing dietary requirements and delivering high standards to well-travelled guests is highly advantageous. We are particularly interested in candidates with successful careers in country house hotels, luxury destination restaurants, boutique hotels, and remote hospitality environments.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Must be eligible for an Australian Working Holiday Visa covering you and your partner for the first 12 months.
  • Under 35 years old at the time of travel.
  • No criminal convictions.
  • Role is only open to candidates relocating with a partner.

Suitable employment opportunities will be available for your partner, even if they do not currently work in hospitality. Applications can only be considered from candidates whose partners are supportive of the move and excited about relocating.

If your experience aligns, we will contact you to discuss your CV within a couple of days of your application. Please respond promptly to our calls/emails due to high response volumes.
