Relocate to a private island paradise in Australia with a salary of $110k AUD plus bonus and fully expensed accommodation. This opportunity is with a high-end, multi-award-winning luxury boutique hotel operation located on a stunning private island just off the coast of mainland Australia.

The property closes during the winter season, giving you approximately three months each year to travel, return home, spend time with family or pursue other interests. The owners regularly help arrange stage opportunities within Michelin-starred restaurants across the world for those looking to further develop their skills.

The food philosophy focuses on world-class ingredients, exceptional seafood, beautiful presentation, and flavours that allow the produce to do the talking. The hotel welcomes no more than 70 guests at any one time, enabling you to curate incredible menus for a well-travelled clientele.

You should be highly organised, adaptable, and comfortable working with exceptional fresh produce across multiple styles of service. Strong fish preparation skills are essential, as is a solid understanding of pastry and bakery. Experience managing dietary requirements and delivering consistently high standards to well-travelled guests will be highly advantageous.

This role is not for someone chasing the next Michelin Star or simply the next rung on the hospitality career ladder. We are looking for established Head Chefs who have operated within fine dining, luxury hotel, or high-standard rosetted environments (minimum 2 Rosette level or equivalent) for a number of years.

We seek a Head Chef who takes genuine pride in ownership, enjoys mentoring others, develops strong teams, and can be trusted to run a highly efficient operation without constant oversight. Life on a remote island is hugely rewarding but different. Candidates who have worked in remote locations, rural environments, country house hotels, or grown up in close-knit communities may find themselves particularly well suited to this opportunity.

Families and candidates with young children are especially welcome to apply. Longevity and stability within previous Executive Head Chef appointments will be viewed favourably.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be eligible for an Australian Working Holiday Visa covering both you and your partner during your first 12 months of employment.
  • You must be under 35 years of age at the time of travel and have no criminal convictions.
  • This opportunity is only open to candidates relocating with a partner.

Suitable employment opportunities will be made available for your partner, even if they do not currently work within hospitality. Applications can only be considered from candidates whose partner is fully supportive of the move and genuinely excited about relocating alongside them.
