Relocate to a private island paradise in Australia with a Head Chef opportunity at a high-end, multi-award-winning luxury boutique hotel operation. This world-class property has been voted the No.1 Boutique Hotel in Australia & the South Pacific on multiple occasions, offering a lifestyle and career opportunity unlike anything else within the hospitality market.

Enjoy a world-class working environment and an exceptional island lifestyle. The base salary is circa $110k AUD + bonus, plus your own private on-site accommodation. All meals, utilities, internet, laundry, and day-to-day living costs are provided, meaning your monthly outgoings are effectively zero. You will work approximately 9 months of the year but will be paid across the full 12 months, with the property closing during the winter season, giving you approximately three months each year to travel or pursue other interests.

The food philosophy focuses on world-class ingredients, exceptional seafood, beautiful presentation, and flavours that allow the produce to do the talking. The hotel welcomes no more than 70 guests at any one time, enabling you to curate incredible menus for a well-travelled clientele. Strong fish preparation skills are essential, as is a solid understanding of pastry and bakery. Experience managing dietary requirements and delivering consistently high standards will be highly advantageous.

This role is not for someone chasing the next Michelin Star or simply the next rung on the hospitality career ladder. We seek established Head Chefs who have operated within fine dining, luxury hotel, or high-standard rosetted environments (minimum 2 Rosette level or equivalent) for several years. Personality, leadership style, and lifestyle fit are equally critical.

Life on a remote island is rewarding but different. Weather can impact deliveries, and solutions need to be found. The successful candidate will be calm under pressure, practical, resourceful, and capable of adapting when plans change. Candidates who have worked in remote locations or enjoy outdoor lifestyles often thrive in this environment.

This opportunity is likely to appeal to someone looking for more than simply their next job. We are looking for a long-term Executive Chef and partner excited about becoming part of a unique island community. Families and candidates with young children are especially welcome to apply.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be eligible for an Australian Working Holiday Visa covering both you and your partner during your first 12 months of employment.
  • You must be under 35 years of age at the time of travel and have no criminal convictions.

This opportunity is only open to candidates relocating with a partner. Suitable employment opportunities will be made available for your partner, even if they do not currently work within hospitality. Applications can only be considered from candidates whose partner is fully supportive of the move.

If your experience aligns with the brief, we will contact you within a few days of receiving your application.
