SEN/Support Worker Location: Client’s home and local community in Weston Super Mare Position Type: Part-time Working Hours: The clients family are happy to discuss hours that work for them, their child and the successful candidate and are open to building a flexible and fluid schedule that works for everyone. They feel they will require up to 18 hours per week. About the Role: We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker/SEN TA to provide buddy support for a bright and spirited 12-year-old boy with a hypoxic brain injury living in Weston-Super-Mare. He is non-verbal but communicates confidently using Makaton and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication). He loves engaging in a variety of fun activities such as: Arcades & soft play Bowling & cinema trips (he loves dancing in the aisles!) Horse riding Banger racing with his dad Outdoor adventures in local parks You’ll be working closely with a warm, loving family who are passionate about providing the best opportunities for their son. What We’re Looking For: An NVQ in Care Experience working with children who have a brain injury and Special Educational Needs (SEN) A personality that is energetic, outgoing, confident, and playful. Knowledge of Makaton would be useful but training can be provided Experience with Epilepsy is strongly recommended Flexibility in working hours, particularly during half-term periods. Confident around animals (the family has dogs, horses, and rabbits) A nurturing and flexible approach to care This role is ideal for those working or seeking experience in SEN school environments.
