Mash Direct is recruiting Electrical Engineers for the purposes of maintaining, testing and repairing plant automation equipment. Working as part of the maintenance team you will follow maintenance plans as well as getting involved in installation projects, electrical fault finding and emergency breakdown repairs to ensure continuous operation of plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair faults on plant control systems.
  • Investigate the nature of plant failures and subsequently carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Carry out instrumentation, control and automation maintenance on a variety of production site equipment including planned maintenance and reactive maintenance.
  • Install, modify and commission new plant equipment to high standards.
  • Ensure, as part of the maintenance team, a safe, clean and tidy working environment is maintained.
  • Provide specialist technical advice where appropriate.
  • Comply with current workshop and site risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
  • Produce Point of Work Risk Assessments whenever necessary to ensure all potential hazards involved with specific tasks are identified and reduced/removed.
  • Ensure that where required, all compliance documentation regarding the company Quality Management System is completed.

Essential Criteria:

  • Electrical City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ Qualification.
  • Proven experience with Operational plant and control systems.
  • Interpreting Electrical Drawings, fault finding from schematic drawings and working with inverter drives.
  • Relay Logic and PLCs.
  • Calibration and maintenance of front-line instrumentation.
  • Meeting health & safety requirements.
  • Work with a flexible, methodical and lateral thinking approach to problem solving.
  • Have a willingness to learn and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and time management.
  • Be physically fit to perform the role able to operate electrical equipment, lift, climb, stand and work at height or in confined spaces without any problem.

Desirable Criteria:

  • HND or HNC qualified in the appropriate electrical discipline.
  • Skilled in utilising lean tools and techniques and developing a continuous improvement culture.
  • Counterbalance Forklift License.
