What you’ll be doing

The Distribution & Fleet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily distribution operations and managing the company’s fleet to ensure efficient, cost‑effective, and compliant delivery activities. Acting as the central point of contact for all haulage partners, this role ensures seamless coordination between internal teams and external logistics providers while maintaining strict control over transport costs and fleet performance.

Your role will include:

  • Distribution & Operations Management
    • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of: 2 Dispatchers, 2 Delivery Drivers, 1 Van Sales Driver
    • Ensure timely and accurate order dispatch and delivery execution.
    • Monitor delivery schedules and resolve operational issues to maintain service levels.
    • Collaborate with warehousing teams to align picking, packing, and dispatch activities.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for all third‑party haulage companies.
    • Negotiate rates and manage relationships with haulage providers.
    • Monitor and control haulage spend to ensure adherence to budget targets.
    • Analyse transport costs and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and savings.
  • Fleet Management
    • Oversee the maintenance and servicing schedules for all company vehicles.
    • Ensure all fleet vehicles are roadworthy, compliant with legal regulations, and properly documented.
    • Coordinate repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
    • Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, servicing, and associated costs.
  • Compliance & Safety
    • Ensure all transport operations comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
    • Promote and enforce high standards of health & safety across all distribution activities.
    • Conduct regular checks to ensure driver compliance with legal and operational requirements.
    • Provide day‑to‑day supervision, guidance, and support to the distribution team.
    • Monitor performance and provide coaching to improve efficiency and productivity.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Working hours

You’ll work five days out of seven, as part of a 45 hour working week.
