Are you an experienced Support Worker looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference in someone's life?
We are looking for a dedicated Male Community Support Worker to join a small, consistent team supporting an adult service user in the SY1 area of Shrewsbury. This is a rewarding one-to-one role, working primarily with the same individual in their own home and within the local community.
The focus of this role is building a positive, supportive relationship and helping the individual live as independently as possible. You will provide encouragement, companionship, and practical support while helping the person access activities, maintain routines, and enjoy an active lifestyle within their community.
The Role You will provide personalised support tailored to the individual's needs, preferences, and goals.
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Supporting the individual to access community activities, appointments, and social opportunities
- Encouraging independence and confidence in daily life
- Assisting with daily living tasks and household routines
- Supporting hobbies, interests, and community engagement
- Accompanying the individual on outings and activities
- Assisting with all aspects of personal care routines
- Assisting with moving and handling and the safe use of equipment
- Following support plans and maintaining accurate records
- Working as part of a small and dedicated support team
Driving Requirement A full UK driving licence is essential for this role. You will be required to drive the service user's own vehicle to support them with appointments, activities, shopping trips, and accessing their local community. Applicants should be confident and comfortable driving regularly as part of their role.

- Minimum 6 months' UK care or support work experience
- Full UK Driving Licence

DBS Information The successful candidate will be required to provide a refundable DBS deposit equivalent to the DBS cost. The deposit will be securely held by the branch and reimbursed in full upon successful completion of 6 months' continuous service.
