This leading automation equipment manufacturer has grown 20% over the past 12 months and in line with the acquisition of new customers and market demand for their equipment they have ambitious plans to expand their support function. Operating in rapidly expanding markets such as pharmaceuticals and recognised for offering some of the industry’s most advanced equipment, they pride themselves on their detailed attention to customer needs and dedication to the highest standards of performance and quality.

About The Role

As a PLC Automation Engineer, you will work from a home office and be responsible for:

  • Supporting clients within the UK & Ireland.
  • Spending 20-30% of your time on customer sites (pharmaceutical manufacturers across your territory) with the rest of your time providing automation and troubleshooting support via phone and remote access.
  • Corrective maintenance and disaster recovery on Rockwell ControlLogix and Scada Systems.
  • System configuration and automation upgrades and amends.
  • Operating in a methodical approach to troubleshoot electrical and automation machine failures.
  • Completing service visit reports.
  • Communicating effectively both internally and externally.

About You

The successful candidate will be based in the UK and possess at least 2 years' experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs such as Siemens, Rockwell etc. Candidates must speak fluent English, hold a valid local driving license and the rights to work. My client doesn’t offer sponsorship. You must be comfortable with travel and nights away when needed. A degree level education is beneficial, but not essential, as is experience working in a cleanroom or sterile environment. It is, however, essential you have a logical and methodical approach to finding faults and be comfortable with PLC troubleshooting and programming.
