With a multimillion-pound turnover and advanced manufacturing capabilities, my client has become a leading supplier of electrical components for a number of key and critical applications. Following consecutive record-breaking sales years, my client wishes to bolster its efforts by recruiting a technical sales professional to focus on developing their UK distribution partners.

About The Role
Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will work from a home office and spend around 2-3 days per week with customers. Duties will include:
- Covering the UK.
- Managing and developing two high value distributors, including setting sales targets, inventory, pricing and supporting with marketing to enable continued growth.
- Visiting your other accounts on a regular basis.
- Building lasting relationships at all levels.
- Conducting regular account review meetings.
- Working to annual account targets and objectives.
- Coordinating with the Global Marketing team to influence and offer input on how best to utilise the marketing budget for your two key distribution accounts.
- Supporting distribution partners on customer site, forging solid relationships with OEM machinery / equipment manufacturers and consultants at Design Engineer, Lead Electrical Design and Project Manager level.
- Securing design in specifications on new and existing projects.
- Working with OEMs in factory automation and process equipment through to scientific instruments, robotics and humanoid technology.
- Understanding customer project challenges and providing guidance and input on the best proposed solution.
- Handling both technical and commercial enquiries from your customer base (Inhouse technical support team available).
- Attending industry events, exhibitions and shows.
- Scheduling and delivering technology training at target branches.
- Supporting and training the branch sales team.
About You
Ideally you will possess a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in an external Sales (Distribution or OEM), Field Applications or Product Specialist role within an electrical engineering, electronics or affiliated field. A HNC, HND, or Degree in an Engineering discipline would be advantageous, but not essential. Any experience managing large national distribution accounts like RS Components or Farnell would be highly advantageous as would experience supporting more regional distributors.

- Comfortable opening doors at engineering level
- Hunter mentality who enjoys supporting distributors to identify and secure new opportunities
- Able to operate autonomously
- Full driving license
- Ability to influence and gain buy in from customers
