This specialist microscope manufacturer is searching for a Masters or PhD educated individual with proven hands-on experience using microscopy and a desire to move into Service Engineering.

My client is a global manufacturer of microscopy equipment and has pushed the boundaries of technology enabling a high level of accuracy in a number of critical applications. The successful candidate will provide first-class service and calibration support to my client’s customer base across the assigned territory (South Central / Southwest).

Responsibilities include:

  • Undergoing training which will involve shadowing experienced engineers.
  • Managing your own support cases and diary.
  • Calibrating, repairing, servicing, and maintaining a range of high value microscopy equipment.
  • Providing effective on-site customer support including system installation (hardware & software) and commissioning.
  • Providing site based and remote maintenance (preventative and reactive), fault finding and diagnostic support to board level.
  • Submitting accurate and timely service reports.

The ideal candidate will be educated to Masters or PhD level with proven knowledge and experience within the area of Optics and Microscopy. Candidates should be a heavy microscopy user or possibly been involved in building and adding elements to increase microscope functionality.

Degree level candidates will be considered should they possess a minimum of 1 years' experience working as a technician or service engineer on analytical instruments.

Full UK driving Licence required.
