We are hiring on behalf of one of our subsidiary companies - Quality Counsel Law. QCL is looking to hire an experienced Cantonese and Mandarin-Speaking Legal Administrator to join their thriving Immigration team in Manchester. QCL is known for its strong focus on immigration law and its commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

The company is currently seeking an Immigration Legal Administrator to collaborate closely with the head of the department, providing essential support in managing caseloads. This role will encompass a combination of administrative tasks and paralegal responsibilities, ensuring smooth operations within the immigration law department. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and preparing immigration documents and liaising with clients. They will also be required to stay up-to-date with the latest regulations and requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Administrative tasks:
    • Compile legal bundles efficiently.
    • Ensure compliance standards are met and maintained.
    • Handle printing, scanning, and general administrative duties for the solicitor.
  • Paralegal tasks:
    • Provide casework services for clients in various immigration law matters.
    • Assist clients in liaising with relevant parties to resolve immigration issues.
    • Offer advice through telephone consultations and schedule follow-up appointments as necessary.
    • Engage in outreach activities to attract potential clients and generate revenue.
    • Ensure timely billing for services rendered.
    • Independently manage a caseload of files with supervision.
    • Submit visa and leave applications, including appeals, bail, settlements, business immigration, and asylum applications.
    • Represent clients in correspondence with UKVI and during interviews.
    • Stay updated on changes in relevant legislation and undergo the necessary training to maintain the standards set by IAA (previously known as OISC).
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year's experience in a legal role preferred.
  • Law Degree (LLB).
  • Demonstrated professionalism, commitment to quality service, and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to grasp the procedural and processing requirements for various visa types.
  • Develop knowledge of the firm and its potential client base.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle a caseload of up to 30 files.
  • Proficient at multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Meet deadlines consistently and effectively communicate case progress and issues to supervisors.
  • Exhibit flexibility and initiative in handling assignments.
  • Foster a positive work environment and build strong team relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
  • Learn from experiences, both positive and negative, and adapt accordingly.
