Marzipan Energy is actively acquiring BESS and solar PV assets across the UK, both Ready‑to‑Build assets with near‑term connection dates and early‑stage development projects with connection dates post‑2028.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex renewable energy planning projects, from initial site identification through to successful determination.
- Take an active role in organising and participating in meetings with external consultants, local authorities, and stakeholders.
- Conduct thorough research, analysis, and assessments to support strategic planning decisions.
- Oversee planning due diligence processes, with the ability to interpret planning decision notices, supplementary reports, site layouts, and associated timeframes.
- Stay informed about evolving planning regulations, policies, and trends in renewable energy development across the UK.
- What We’re Looking For
- A degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field (RTPI accreditation is desirable).
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in a planning role, ideally within a consultancy or local authority. Experience in Solar PV and/or BESS is preferred but not essential.
- Strong understanding of UK planning legislation and policy.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
