Important Information (Genuine Occupational Requirement): This role is within a women-only service supporting women who have experienced trauma, including domestic abuse and exploitation. About the Role: We are looking for a dedicated Waking Night Support Worker to provide overnight support, safety, and crisis response within our SHINE service. This is a frontline role where you will ensure the safety, wellbeing, and stability of clients throughout the night, responding to risk, providing emotional support, and maintaining a calm and secure environment. The role includes working across multiple sites during the night where required to meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients overnight, carrying out regular welfare checks
  • Respond to crisis situations, safeguarding concerns, and disclosures of trauma
  • Maintain a safe, calm, and supportive women-only environment
  • Carry out night-time assessments and contribute to support and safety plans
  • Monitor the building, reporting health & safety or maintenance issues
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies and internal teams
  • Maintain accurate case notes, incident reports, and safeguarding records

About You: You will be compassionate, resilient, and able to work confidently in a lone-working, night-time environment supporting women with complex needs. You will have:

  • Strong experience supporting vulnerable women or adults with complex needs
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively in crisis situations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and use sound judgement

Experience working with vulnerable adults: 3 years (required)
